Sharing Knowledge

This exhibition features the works of generations of Anishinaabek basket-makers, celebrating their skill and artistry in creating objects for use and beauty.

Basket-makers worked with each other, sharing knowledge to sustainably harvest black ash, sweetgrass, elm, and birch bark, porcupine quills, and other material, and the skills and techniques to shape them.
