Description

Silk on paper scroll. Narrow border of green figured silk. Border surrounds central long rectangle of cream silk which has an ink and watercolor on it. Top of the back has a small panel of blue figured silk. Cylindrical cloth covered wood dowel at base of and a semi-circular wood dowel at the top. Loop of cotton cord attached by metal rings at top (for hanging).
Scene of cotton weaving. Central group of buildings with a porch. On the porch 3 women next to a loom with partially woven white cotton. Two hold finished pieces of cloth, one stand next the loom. Large tree in background, bush and large rock in foreground. Shades of brown, green blue, pink. Number 17 in series of 20.
